Full food and beverage service is available in the meeting room and it is well appointed for presentations and meetings. The Sunroom is always available for private parties and meetings. This glassed in extension of the dining room offers dramatic panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the golf course, and is well appointed for meetings, presentations, and private get-togethers.
As always, the outside deck and Patio Bar on the west side of the Lodge offer stunning panoramic views of Lake Michigan, and are the perfect settings to enjoy lunch, dinner, or drinks before or after your round. Arcadia Bluffs is a daily-fee golf club, open to the public seven days a week, from mid-April to mid-November each year, weather permitting. There are no private memberships, and every design aspect of the facility fosters enjoyment for guests of all golfing abilities.
In addition to the premier layout, guests can enjoy a full practice range and separate short-game facility. GPS-equipped golf cars are available, or you may take advantage of the caddy program. Arcadia Bluffs was founded in on the windswept bluffs overlooking feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. The original Bluffs Course resembles a seaside links course with rolling terrain, natural fescues, and panoramic views of beautiful Lake Michigan. The Bluffs offers players a world-class golfing experience unlike anything in The United States.
The newly opened South Course is a tribute to a bygone era in course design that few golfers today have ever experienced. With a well-struck drive you can get it there in two, and being the 18 handicap hole, this is a great birdie opportunity — so play smart. The last hole to come back towards the lake, 16 is a difficult hole. The ideal approach shot is long on the left side of the fairway really long, this thing plays from the whites.
Try and keep it on the left side of the green, and if the pin is at the far right, go chase it at your own risk. Long is better than short, so take an extra club or two and pay attention to the wind. It had really picked up at this point in our round, and it could make the difference between an 8 iron and a 4 iron. A really picturesque finishing hole. Arcadia Bluffs was easily the biggest surprise of my trip. I liked it better than Whistling Straits , personally. It was less crowded, not quite as tough, and had more fun holes.
Arcadia Bluffs along with Forest Dunes are probably my favorite northern Michigan courses and are worth a trip from anywhere in the country.
Other courses like Bay Harbor , Grand Traverse and Threetops are icing on the cake and could make for one epic golf week. Love your course reviews and the fantastic pictures that accompany each one. I am a big fan of Michigan golf but shied away from Arcadia because I had heard it was too difficult for average golfer.
Your pictures convinced me the beauty alone of this course makes it a must stop next time I head up North. Ben Crenshaw and crew did a phenomenal job creating holes from an old phosphate mine. All the fantastic reviews of this newcomer were right on the mark.
Great review. Our group goes up to Arcadia yearly. One thing you have to pay attention to when playing Arcadia. The lake has tremendous effect on putts.
Putt away from the lake is slower than it looks and putting towards the lake they are fast. Also Mike C. I got to play streamsong red in December.
Great course reminded me of Arcadia. Except no lake view. Arcadia can wear you out from the black tees. But probably the most fun we have all year on a course. Well last year I finally did, and am just now getting around to it.
Your reviews, especially of Arcadia, are phenomenal! This is exactly what I want out of a golf site, and your pics are incredible. It got me pumped to play the course. Keep up the good work and hit em straight! Great articles and pictures on this web site. We do a guys trip to MI every year and have played all the best courses except Forest Dunes. Now that I read your review on that one I will be playing that one next year. One course in Northern MI you missed that is ranked in top golf digest is Tullymore.
We did the stay and play at that course this year and it is a beautiful resort. Very difficult course but I highly suggest you get to that resort as well. Also-I live in Raleigh, NC and I can say that you will really look forward to getting down here to the sandhills and playing pinehurst 2, Pine Needles, and Tobacco Roads! Definitely go, you wont regret it. The place is only going to get better with word coming out of the new Tom Doak reversible layout. Was super bummed I didnt make it down to Tullymore on my trip.
Great review man, I totally agree with you about this course. I played it this past summer expecting it to be very good but it was more than that. It does not get prettier than Arcadia. Very fun course and the scenery is unparalleled. Great review Sean! I could play every day of summer and never tire of the experience.
From Steven playing bagpipes to the 19th hole, everything is incredible! Going back again July 4th weekend pushing past 50 the number of rounds my wife and I have flown in to play at AB! Thanks for the great review Sean, it was spot on!
I played Arcadia two years ago and it is probably my favorite course. Truly amazing views! After your round, the bagpiper and watching the sunset from the Adirondack chairs are highly recommended as well. We stayed at the lodge and the accommodations and service we top notch. I live in West Michigan, and Arcadia is one of my favorites, glad you found it to be a special destination as well! I just stumbled upon your website today, and have really enjoyed reading through it so far!
Thanks for taking the time to write up these reviews! Holes are some of my favorites anywhere. Anything from birdie to double bogey is in play on every hole in that stretch. I played Arcadia Bluffs back in May on my annual spring golf trip to Michigan and it is one of the most scenic and fun golf courses I have ever experienced. Is it challenging? But the layout is excellent and the views are incredible. The bunkers are brutal so avoid them as best you can.
