Immediately I looked into it and based on the pictures this fruit is pretty close to the in game version the biggest difference being it is a little bumper. So began my search for this fruit. Soon I realized it was not easily obtainable. Unfortunately I was unable to get my hands on the actual fruit but I did find a fruit spread that contained yumberry in it.
After a bit of tasting I knew this would work for an omnomberry cake. This is probably one of the most complicated recipes I have posted to date! I recommend giving yourself a lot of time to do this and to plan around it. While the oven is warming up place the yumberry fruit spread in a bowl and bring the water to a boil.
When it has come to a boil pour it over the fruit spread and whisk until combined. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until smooth. Set this to the side. In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a saucepan melt the butter and combine with the sugar. Mix until smooth and then place into the stand mixer. Set the stand mixer to stir.
This will allow the butter and sugar mixture to cool. Once cooled add the vanilla extract. Add each of the eggs, one at a time.
Separate the batter into three separate cake pans. I only had two so I had to do this in two batches. You want to make sure you separate these into three equal portions! Place in the oven and bake for minutes or until done. Once done, place on a cooling rack and allow it to cool completely! Finally we need to get the right color. Add enough in my case 20 drops of the neon pink food dye until it has reached the desired level of pink!
After blend I recommend place this in the refrigerator until you are ready to start assembling the cake. The last part of the cake until we can begin construction is making the chocolate frosting. Melt the chocolate in a saucepan and set it aside and let it cool. Now we can finally begin constructing the cake. Take your cake layers and make sure to cut the extra bump at the top.
We want our cake to be level. Add a good chunk of filling. Place the next layer, add more filling, and place the last layer on top. After adding the filling I placed the cake in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to let the pieces come together.
Once rested, cover with the chocolate frosting and decorate with raspberries. I highly recommend letting the cake refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Take the thinner chocolate layer, and using a pastry brush gently brush some Kirsch or maraschino cherry juice over it evenly.
Keep about a cup full of Omnomberry frosting aside for garnish later. Cover the thin middle layer with the Omnomberry frosting, then top with the final thicker cake layer. Keep about a cup full of Chocolate frosting aside for garnish later. Take the chocolate frosting and begin coating the cake in a rough, thin layer of frosting around the sides and top.
Put the cake into the fridge for an hour to chill. Once chilled, remove the cake and begin to neatly frost it. Smoothing out any edges and keeping it even all around. Return the cake to the fridge for 30 minutes. Fill two icing bags, one with the leftover chocolate and the other with the leftover Omnomberry frosting. Take the cake from the fridge again, carefully pipe chocolate stars around the edge of the cake, leaving an even space between each one.
Next, pipe Omnomberry stars between the chocolate stars to make a complete border. Evenly place the soaked blueberries around the top of the cake, and garnish each one with a tiny sprig of mint. Posted 9 years ago. Blog comments powered by Disqus. I love to play video games and I love to eat.
